Tasty’s Is In The House!

Almost every year I go to the State Fair of Texas. As soon as I walk through those “pearly gates” I beeline straight for a shack selling turkey legs. There is something about an oversized drumstick of meat that puts an extra pep in my step. I will walk around satisfied with that juicy meat for hours hesitant to share with my own hubby for fear of him taking too big a bite. The only unfortunate thing is that’s the ONLY time I can get a REALLY great turkey leg……..until now!!!!

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of my brother and sister-in-laws new restaurant Tasty’s BBQ and Turkey Leg Connection.

I’ve had one of these turkey legs before and let me tell you, I think these taste better than the State Fairs, AND now I can get them year round.fullsizerender-1

When we first walked it, there was a group of customers ordering at the counter. The smell of brisket hit us in the face and I immediately felt myself drooling (that could also be on account that we haven’t had any meat this month). I already knew I wanted a turkey leg, but I checked out the extensive menu to see what other delightful dishes Tasty’s would be offering.

The Brisket Nachos were off to a promising start. One of the very popular dishes of the day. How can you go wrong with anything that has brisket?? They also have a Loaded Baked Potato that I need to try. It’s filled with awesomeness including spiced sausage I believe.

Throughout the hour while we were there to support, customers would come in spurts. Hubby and I decided to order before it got busy again so he got the Original Smoked Turkey Leg and I got the Cajun Spice Turkey Leg. No later than we sit down to wait on our order locals started to wander in to check out the menu and get a taste of some amazing food.

There is no doubt in my mind that Tasty’s will easily become a neighborhood staple. The food is delicious and they already know what works for them so I am excited to watch it grown. I am also happy because now instead of having to wait for October to roll around in Texas to get a great turkey leg from the State Fair, I can’t just head on over to Tasty’s year round and experience the awesomeness! If you’re in the DFW area, definitely go by and check them out 🙂
