Jai’s Glow In The Dark Park Party

When Jai Bird has her birthday, I generally find it difficult to figure out a theme for the party🤔 She wants to be just like her big sister so she goes for the things Buzzy Bee enjoys, like Barbie dolls and Disney Princesses. This year, however, Jai Bird began to lean into things that appealed to her unique character. While she would never turn down a Barbie, I’ve noticed her confidence solidifying once she finds something that suits her personality. This year, I’m glad we saw more of her individuality so that party planning wasn’t nearly as challenging compared to past years 😅

39 Years Young

I am thrilled to be celebrating my 39th birthday! It’s been quite a journey so far, with its ups and downs, but I’m grateful for the experiences that have shaped me.

In the Bible, there is a verse in Psalm 144 that states, “Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.“. Sometimes I truly do feel the impact of that reality; I start my day on a jolt and before I know it, bedtime is knocking at my door 🤦🏾‍♀️.

For birthdays, however, I try to savor all the details that make the experience truly special. As I approach the end of my 30s, I’m taking the time to appreciate the meaningful moments in my life.🥳

2024 Family Summer Cruise

I’ve been on a looong hiatus from writing. I miss it 😭 Even though I’ve been out of my writing pocket, the summer was full of adventures galore. My phone is literally bursting with photos! We got to try blueberry picking at Blase Family Farm, both girls got to ride horseback at a friends birthday party, we stacked mad legos at Rouge Brick, we got to pet and learn about a chinchilla at the local library, they got to go bowling at Main Event, took a trip to The Illusion Museum in Dallas, and visited Disney Princess friends at Nebraska Furniture Mart 😅

Rainbow Princess 4th Bday Party

It seems like only yesterday I was holding my little Jai Bird as a bundle in my arms. What happened to that tiny human who was more content to sit in my lap as a baby??

She has changed a lot in a good way. On the daily, I feel like I’m experiencing a petite human rainbow child. Jai Bird has the nerve to vividly stand out against the backdrop of life. She rarely shirks from a challenge, is a copious risk taker, and has little problem being direct about who she is or what she wants.

In order to celebrate all things her, we decided to throw a bright colorful rainbow party at Lone Star Gymnastics for her birthday 🌈

Come On Barbie, Let’s Go Party

When I was a kid, I didn’t think too much of dolls. I remember enjoying my Polly Pocket (I’m of the era where they could actually fit in your pocket lol). I also had a Popples stuffed toy that I really loved and a baby doll that I could feed.

Of all the toys I can distinctly remember playing with, I do remember my gymnast Barbie the most. This was during a stage in my young life where I wanted to start gymnastics and be just like Dominique Dawes.

I saw the value in playing with various dolls throughout my childhood, so when my oldest requested a Barbie themed birthday, I was like “Say less” 😂

What An Elephant Doesn’t Forget

Have you ever been to the Fort Worth zoo? Or any zoo for that matter? We have been on several occasions and it’s always amazing BUT anytime we’ve gone a teeny tiny part of me wishes we could get just a little bit closer to some of the animals in a safe way (like the time we fed a lion in Las Vegas). Well months ago I just so happen to come across a lady who told me about elephant encounters. Of course I was all ears and began plotting a way for us to have that amazing experience for my girls during summer break.

In the town of Hugo Oklahoma, there’s an unsuspecting elephant preserve called Endangered Ark Foundation. The foundation exists to service retired Asian elephants and keep them thriving as they live out the rest of their lives.

Fear The Ears: How To Do Magic Kingdom On A Whim

According to a vague explanation from my dad, apparently I’ve been to Disney World as a child. To back up this claim, he has a single cropped picture of me at age 2 sitting on a curb. There’s nothing remarkable about the location. There’s no Disney theme backdrop, I’m not holding anything Disney related, and there are no magical characters hanging out nearby. I don’t remember going to Disney World and it’s a running joke in our family that because there’s a lack photo proof I most certainly haven’t been 😂

Make The Most Of May: Part 2

I’m back again with the last half of what went down in the month of May. If you read Part 1, you know I had three different speaking occasions sprinkled throughout the month. Not only was it a busy time for me, but we also had events surrounding my little Buzzy Bee. She had an end of year field day, graduation, a ballet recital, just to name a few 😅. Even though it easily got overwhelming, I tried to make the most of each event by slowing down my mommy brain and breathing in those milestone moments.

Spring A Ling

Since it’s been a while from my last post, I figured I would do a catch up post in between. There has been a lot going on and it’s not even summer yet 😭 We’ve had everything from school events for Buzzy Bee to dinner dates to fun new experiences for both the littles. Let’s get to it 🙌🏾

Birthdays, Mardi Gras Balls, and Sky Falls

Oh how much I love a good hiatus! Enjoying these pauses and waiting to blog until I have something to say has truly made life MUCH simpler. For the last half of the month of January it’s been busy, busy, busy. I feel like I’m in my 20s 😅 Haha, jk, but 2023 sure has spun into a different gear. Let’s get into it 😊
