Two Smiles Are Better Than One: 12th Anniversary Trip

Hello everyone! I’m excited to share the latest blog about our 12th-anniversary trip! If you read last year’s anniversary trip write-up, you already know the challenges we faced leading up to it. We started on a rocky note that left us feeling a bit out of sorts—we didn’t even want to be around each other. A significant portion of our trip was spent in a shadowy valley 😞. However, GOD 👏🏾 IS 👏🏾 GOOD 👏🏾, and He graciously met us in that valley and led us to much greener pastures.

This year, our anniversary was the complete opposite of last year’s experience. We tried lots of unique foods, had a blast learning how to tag walls in a graffiti lesson, enjoyed our first 4DX theater experience, and wrapped it all up with some valuable insights. I can’t wait to share more—let’s dive in!

39 Years Young

I am thrilled to be celebrating my 39th birthday! It’s been quite a journey so far, with its ups and downs, but I’m grateful for the experiences that have shaped me.

In the Bible, there is a verse in Psalm 144 that states, “Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.“. Sometimes I truly do feel the impact of that reality; I start my day on a jolt and before I know it, bedtime is knocking at my door 🤦🏾‍♀️.

For birthdays, however, I try to savor all the details that make the experience truly special. As I approach the end of my 30s, I’m taking the time to appreciate the meaningful moments in my life.🥳

2024 Family Summer Cruise

I’ve been on a looong hiatus from writing. I miss it 😭 Even though I’ve been out of my writing pocket, the summer was full of adventures galore. My phone is literally bursting with photos! We got to try blueberry picking at Blase Family Farm, both girls got to ride horseback at a friends birthday party, we stacked mad legos at Rouge Brick, we got to pet and learn about a chinchilla at the local library, they got to go bowling at Main Event, took a trip to The Illusion Museum in Dallas, and visited Disney Princess friends at Nebraska Furniture Mart 😅

Owning October in December

I am soooo late with posting this🤦🏾‍♀️ October is our busy month and it only took a couple November and December to finish writing 🤦🏾‍♀️ We have multiple family birthdays and an anniversary to celebrate at the end, all while trying to avoid being inundated by our regular family wear and tear. Most years have been phenomenal and genuinely pleasant, however this year there were several hiccups that truly made this year’s October more of a challenge than usual.

Date Night: Clay Pigeon

The mister never ceases to amaze me when finding interesting places to dine. Lately, we have been fans of this show called “The Bear” so he’s been on the lookout for restaurants that give a similar vibe. On one of the more recent date night visits we hit up a local spot called Clay Pigeon. I never heard of it, but I’m so glad we gave it a shot 😊 Clay Pigeon is Chef owned and operated so it did NOT disappoint!

What An Elephant Doesn’t Forget

Have you ever been to the Fort Worth zoo? Or any zoo for that matter? We have been on several occasions and it’s always amazing BUT anytime we’ve gone a teeny tiny part of me wishes we could get just a little bit closer to some of the animals in a safe way (like the time we fed a lion in Las Vegas). Well months ago I just so happen to come across a lady who told me about elephant encounters. Of course I was all ears and began plotting a way for us to have that amazing experience for my girls during summer break.

In the town of Hugo Oklahoma, there’s an unsuspecting elephant preserve called Endangered Ark Foundation. The foundation exists to service retired Asian elephants and keep them thriving as they live out the rest of their lives.

Fear The Ears: How To Do Magic Kingdom On A Whim

According to a vague explanation from my dad, apparently I’ve been to Disney World as a child. To back up this claim, he has a single cropped picture of me at age 2 sitting on a curb. There’s nothing remarkable about the location. There’s no Disney theme backdrop, I’m not holding anything Disney related, and there are no magical characters hanging out nearby. I don’t remember going to Disney World and it’s a running joke in our family that because there’s a lack photo proof I most certainly haven’t been 😂

Spring A Ling

Since it’s been a while from my last post, I figured I would do a catch up post in between. There has been a lot going on and it’s not even summer yet 😭 We’ve had everything from school events for Buzzy Bee to dinner dates to fun new experiences for both the littles. Let’s get to it 🙌🏾

Treat Yo Self: Pressed Massage Therapy

I am a huge fan of doing things here and there to treat myself. It could be anything from getting a mani pedi, reading while sipping some bomb tea, or one of my favorites, getting a massage! I just found out about this wonderful masseuse in my local city so of course I’m going to brag on her 😊. Welcome to my first experience at Pressed Massage Therapy.

A Wicked Good Time

Ah Valentine’s Day 🥰 The love, the roses, the overstuffed teddy bears. As you’ve probably guessed, I’m not big on Valentines Day. In fact, neither me or the mister are. However this go around, an exclusive Valentine’s Day menu at one of our newest favorite spots in Fort Worth tugged on our heart strings. Check out our midday lunch date escape.
