Happy Birthday Mom

My mom is a wonderful person. Growing up, she always encouraged us, supported us, and taught us to fear the Lord. If you’ve never read Proverbs 31 (I highly recommend it; it’s a great read), it speaks of a woman who fears God and the impact it has on her household. My mom is such a woman. She has had such an impact on me and my sisters that we decided to surprise her with a birthday getaway to Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Rainbow Princess 4th Bday Party

It seems like only yesterday I was holding my little Jai Bird as a bundle in my arms. What happened to that tiny human who was more content to sit in my lap as a baby??

She has changed a lot in a good way. On the daily, I feel like I’m experiencing a petite human rainbow child. Jai Bird has the nerve to vividly stand out against the backdrop of life. She rarely shirks from a challenge, is a copious risk taker, and has little problem being direct about who she is or what she wants.

Even though it easily got overwhelming, I tried to make the most of each event by slowing down my mommy brain and breathing in those milestone moments.

Back It Up

Wow it’s been some months! I know I have a tendency to go offline, but to be fair, I really suck at being online because I don’t do it right. My bias for doing and documenting has eluded me. That’s why today is the day I’m going to down load my back log of adventures that have been sitting in my phone collecting figurative dust! Shall we?

My “I Don’t Want To Look Like A Mom” Mommy Tote

Being thrust into the mother of two worlds comes with certain…predictions. I drive an suv, I only wear yoga pants out of the house, I have a faint yet continual scent of animal crackers emitting from my person at all times lol. While some of these truly define me, I felt like when I was preparing for the new stage of motherhood, more thoughtfulness was needed when it came to the type of diaper bag I would be hauling around.
