Being on Poshmark is a lot like being in high school. There’s lots of community, drama, and excitement. As much as I enjoy selling and shopping the app, there are times I’ve also gotten frustrated; when I feel like I’ve been treated unfairly as the buyer or the seller. On this and the next few posts I want to talk about challenging experiences and what to learn from them. Get ready, it’s about to get deep!
When I started paying attention to my poshing at the beginning of this year, I still didn’t have everything right. I was sharing like crazy, I was on Posh much more than I had been in the past, and I still didn’t see sales fly out the door. After some discussion and encouragement from a fellow PFF I decided I needed to do an entire closet revamp. Continue reading “Zero to One Hundred: A Closet Revamp Gone Terribly Right”
So a couple weeks ago I co-hosted my very first Posh Party. It was so much fun and tons of prep work (for weirdo’s like me who gasp in excitement at words like “plan” and “prep”).
I learned a bunch and documented a lot of my process on my last blog What It’s Like To Host A Posh Party. Now that it has come to an end, I wanted to revisit and dive a little deeper into the process of choosing those ever elusive Host Picks. My goal is to help bring awareness to those who might have had trouble in the past getting attention for Host Picks and to hopefully help them get noticed by providing insight into how I chose mine :D.
Who doesn’t love a Posh Party? You scroll through your listings sharing your items, shopping other amazing closets, and singing praises to those who have been fortunate enough to land a host pick. But what happens when you’re the one hosting? I’m about to give you the inside scoop on what happened during my first time as a Posh Party Host as well as some tips and key takeaways. We’ve all seen it, and we’ve all thought it…how in THE HECK do these girls on Posh do it? How do they have massive followings and I’m just peas on a plate? Ok so maybe I’m the only one that thought like this, but I’m not afraid to admit that it really irked me. When I started to really focus on my closet in January of 2016 I had 800 unearned followers essentially. I figured gaining more followers would be simple, and guess what, I was WRONG. Dead wrong!
(For some reason, me fumbling around on Poshmark for years before finally “getting it” equivocated to the feeling of stepping in gum lol)
I joined Poshmark in 2012. At the time I was working a corporate desk job when a friend came to my cubicle telling me about this app where I could make a little pocket money selling clothes directly from my closet. I was somewhat intrigued. Historically, I have only ever sold clothes to Plato’s Closet, Clothes Mentor, or just given them up to Good Will, so of course I had to check out this “amazing app” and see what all the fuss was about.
