39 Years Young

I am thrilled to be celebrating my 39th birthday! It’s been quite a journey so far, with its ups and downs, but I’m grateful for the experiences that have shaped me.

In the Bible, there is a verse in Psalm 144 that states, “Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.“. Sometimes I truly do feel the impact of that reality; I start my day on a jolt and before I know it, bedtime is knocking at my door 🤦🏾‍♀️.

For birthdays, however, I try to savor all the details that make the experience truly special. As I approach the end of my 30s, I’m taking the time to appreciate the meaningful moments in my life.🥳

Treat Yo Self: Pressed Massage Therapy

I am a huge fan of doing things here and there to treat myself. It could be anything from getting a mani pedi, reading while sipping some bomb tea, or one of my favorites, getting a massage! I just found out about this wonderful masseuse in my local city so of course I’m going to brag on her 😊. Welcome to my first experience at Pressed Massage Therapy.

A Wicked Good Time

Ah Valentine’s Day 🥰 The love, the roses, the overstuffed teddy bears. As you’ve probably guessed, I’m not big on Valentines Day. In fact, neither me or the mister are. However this go around, an exclusive Valentine’s Day menu at one of our newest favorite spots in Fort Worth tugged on our heart strings. Check out our midday lunch date escape.

Birthdays, Mardi Gras Balls, and Sky Falls

Oh how much I love a good hiatus! Enjoying these pauses and waiting to blog until I have something to say has truly made life MUCH simpler. For the last half of the month of January it’s been busy, busy, busy. I feel like I’m in my 20s 😅 Haha, jk, but 2023 sure has spun into a different gear. Let’s get into it 😊

Bday Downtime At Woodhouse Day Spa

In my previous blog post, I wrote about my trip to Medieval Times for my birthday. That was only half of my celebration. The next day hubby surprised me with a massage booked at my favorite down time spot Woodhouse Day Spa. What makes this place so special? Read on to find out.

A Very Merry Medieval Birthday

Every year for my birthday since I’ve been an adult, I’ve tried to celebrate it as much as humanly possible. I didn’t celebrate birthday’s growing up so I consider my special day as making up for lost time. I’ve generally enjoyed the medieval era as a kid. Whenever I would see the Medieval Times commercials I would tell myself, one day I’m going! And for my birthday this year, that’s just what we did!

Dallas Date Night: Royal 38

Mister and I haven’t been out to Dallas in a while. When it comes to our dates we had found so many cool late night places on Fort Worth side, we kept it close in the pocket. We finally ventured back out to try a new spot located in downtown called Royal 38.

Welcome To Lockwood

My husband has been raving about Lockwood for weeks now. It’s not just a new bar addition to the Magnolia street strip here in Fort Worth, they are a full on distillery with their own line of liquors! The drink options are as unique and inviting as the atmosphere. I’m sure this will be added to our date night go to’s rotation. Here’s my first experience at Lockwood 😁

Who Is Lou?

Have you met this guy? If not, he goes by the name Lou Charles. He’s a Fort Worth based rapper that the mister and I met several years ago while checking out local talent at the back then venue called Live Oak. From the jump Lou has shown some crazy charisma in his artistry so when he hosted this last Louapalooza as usual, we had a blast!

Magic On Magnolia

I like magic…and it’s not just because I’m black lol! Magic is a glimpse into the realm of wonderment. It gives me the chance to not know it all and be pleasantly surprised (something that if ya know me is quite hard to do). But all jokes aside, this local experience really takes the cake.
